For nearly 40 years, Gretsch Drums have been hand-crafted in Ridgeland, South Carolina. It’s here that a team of dedicated artisans ensure that every drum possess “That Great Gretsch Sound.” Every detail is considered, utilizing the finest the finest materials available today. To honor the dedication and passion of these artisans and the time-honored tradition of Gretsch drum making we proudly introduce the USA Custom Ridgeland Snare Drum.

At nearly a half-inch thick, this stout shell made of maple, gum and poplar, features a hybrid bearing edge that combines the classic Gretsch 30º edge with an old-school Broadkaster-style roundover. The result is warm, full-bodied tone with plenty of attack.. Faithfully maintaining the Gretsch USA build, Ridgeland Snare Drums are equipped with sturdy 4mm die-cast counter hoops, the ever-popular Lightning Throw-off, 20-strand snare wires and Gretsch Permatone drumheads. To perfectly match your drum set, Ridgeland Snare Drums are custom made in any available Nitron, Satin or Gloss Lacquer finish.

Gretsch USA Custom (originally introduced as the Round Badge series in the mid-1950’s) are considered one of the staples in the drum community and have been for almost 70 years. All the Gretsch legends of yesterday proudly played them and many artists continue to carry the torch of that Great Gretsch Sound.

Our wood snares offer a time-tested blend of sensitivity, tone, classic feel, and wide dynamic range. USA Custom snare drums can be used in any style of music and the proof is in the countless recordings you’ve heard over so many years.

These snare drums are just that…. Custom. You choose your size, hardware options, and finish and we’ll do the rest. With build options so extensive, the hardest part in choosing your snare drum is deciding how you want it built and that’s a fun problem to have.

Solid Maple

Our single-ply North American maple wood snare drums carry many characteristics you hope to find in a custom snare drum; beauty, craftmanship, wonderful musicality, and versatility. Made in our legendary Gretsch factory in Ridgeland, South Carolina, our solid maple snare drums feature 30º bearing edges, Die Cast hoops, 42-strand snare wires and coated Permatone batter head with underside dot.

All models are built to order on a custom basis and are available in either Lightning or Micro-Sensitive Throw-Off or Butt plate. The shells are finished in clear Nitro Cellulose gloss lacquer and is available in any color from the USA palette.
