Bio:
Native New Yorker, Sammy Siegler is a third-generation drummer who honed his skills in the New York Hardcore scene of the late 80’s and early 90’s. He was making records and playing shows at the age of 12 with bands Gorilla Biscuits, Side By Side, and later Judge and Youth of Today. In the 90’s his band CIV supported KISS at MSG, toured with No Doubt and performed on three Warped Tours including the first one in 1995 powered by a buzz clip on MTV. After recording the first Glassjaw album Siegler’s band Rival Schools kicked off a lengthy career which is still going today with the debut album “United by Fate”. He joined Nightmare of You featuring members of The Movielife (whom he played for on a UK tour), and shortly after recorded and released an album with Limp Bizkit and found time to fill in for Patti Smith for a memorable NYC benefit concert. His father who played drums on the Beastie Boys album Hello Nasty was a huge influence, exposing him to Jazz and Brazilian Samba among other styles. Siegler attended the New School in NYC and studied with Reggie Workman and Chico Hamilton among others. When he moved to Los Angeles in 2013 he formed World Be Free and Constand elevation and later joined the iconic hardcore band, 7Seconds. Most of the bands mentioned have all performed in recent years with Sammy Siegler on drums.
