Bio:
Roman, born in Rheinfelden, Switzerland, began playing the violin at the age of five and took up the drums at nine. He studied music at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Zurich, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During this time, he performed with artists such as Eve Gallagher (UK), Susan Orus (CH), Natacha (CH), and Myron (CH).

After several years teaching in public schools, Roman founded his own music school, where he taught from 2001 to 2012. In 2010, he met producer Andy Wright, who encouraged him to move to London—a step Roman took in February 2011. Shortly after, he began recording and touring with singer Peter Grant. By late 2011 and early 2012, he recorded the American Soul album with Mick Hucknall, which was followed by a 2013 tour.

In 2014, Roman recorded drums and percussion for Simply Red’s Big Love album. In October 2015, he joined Simply Red on their world tour and has been a permanent member of the band ever since.
