Bio:
Tif “Teddy” Lamson is an accomplished musician and performer from Lafayette, Louisiana, whose passion for music ignited in her early years. Growing up playing gospel rock with her family’s 7-piece band at church, she developed a strong appreciation for live performance and the art of improvisation, which ultimately led her to specialize in drums and percussion. Though drums remain her first love, she has since evolved into a versatile multi-instrumentalist, also focusing on vocals, guitar, marimba, ukulele, synthesizers, and more. Her expansive musical talents and deep connection to rhythm and melody has shaped her distinctive sound and voice.
In 2008, Tif co-founded the internationally acclaimed indie-rock band GIVERS. Following the release of their debut LP In Light and their signing with Glassnote Records, the band became a prominent figure on the festival circuit for over a decade. Notable milestones include performances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and at the Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s 50th Anniversary at Carnegie Hall. The band also earned recognition in Neil Young’s autobiography Waging Heavy Peace, where they were mentioned as one of his favorite bands.
Tif's extensive touring experience includes performing with other notable acts such as Mike Dillon, LCD Soundsystem, and PEACHES. In 2019, she joined Peaches’ team as Music Director, Band Leader, and Drummer for her residencies in Hamburg, Berlin, London, and Aarhus, and went on to tour globally for the 20th anniversary of the album Teaches of Peaches. Currently, Tif served as the Drummer and Backup Vocalist for Shania Twain on her 2023 Queen of Me tour and continues her role during Shania's 2024-2025 Las Vegas Residency at Planet Hollywood.
Based in New Orleans, Tif also works as a studio musician, audio engineer, and producer. She was awarded a Music Director Residency at the Music Box Village, a renowned performance venue, where she has directed and collaborated with artists from a wide range of genres. Her collaborative work includes performances with Ani DiFranco, Rickie Lee Jones, Peaches, Anders Osborne, Nels Cline, Leyla McCalla, The Dixie Cups, and many others.
In between her touring schedule, Tif is currently working on a solo album, showcasing her unique blend of musical influences and creative vision.
