We asked...Why Gretsch?:
"For me, these things all come down to trust. Over the years, I’ve watched and heard some of my favourite players putting their trust in Gretsch drums, and, out of all the kits I’ve played and owned throughout my career, the Gretsch drums have always sat on top of the pile when it comes to consistency of sound, build quality and outstanding beauty. The craftsmanship is impeccable and that translates into a really gratifying experience every time I use them - and those favourite players of mine can’t have been wrong across all those years. That’s how you build trust in your equipment."

Advice to aspiring musicians?:
"In music, as in life, you never stop learning. Open your ears, open your mind and soak in as much as you can. Take advice humbly; be practised; be adaptable; aim to be the best you can be, and let these things come over time through experience. So get up and do it, whatever it is, action is best. Learn that song, start that band. What better way can we spend our lives, indulging a passion as a job."

Bio:
Playing, teaching and touring for 25 years, Gareth joined The Rattlesnakes in early 2016 for the creation of the band's UK No.7 album 'Modern Ruin’. That album was set to be a giant step on from the hardcore punk rock beginnings of 2015's 'Blossom’, striding towards the cultivated and lyrically provocative singalong rock of 2019's UK No.4 album 'End Of Suffering'. Off the back of their headline performance at the UK’s Download Festival 2021, they’re all set for the release of the highly anticipated 4th studio album ’Sticky’ in October 2021.

Touring with the Rattlesnakes has included sellout UK and European headline tours, filling iconic venues like London’s Alexandra Palace, arena and stadium support shows with the likes of the Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Bring Me The Horizon and more, plus festival stages across the globe including UK Reading & Leeds main-stage, Glastonbury, Lollapallooza, Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park, Shaky Knees and many more.

Gareth also works as an independent session artist. His love, appreciation and performance of a huge range of styles is what makes him tick the most, forming the basis of his approach to rock drumming, all delivered in trademark bombastic style.

Between the studio and tours, Gareth is a passionate educator, teaching individuals and presenting masterclasses in instrumental specifics and music industry experience.
