Oscar D'Auria

Oscar D’Auria. Drummer, band leader, author, teacher, clinician and producer who belongs in the Gretsch family since 2003. He studied drumming with maestro Alberto Alcalá, piano at Instituto Musical Santa Cecilia, and percussion with professor José María Martín Porrás at Real Conservatorio Superior de Música in Madrid during his residence in Spain, took a personal master class with Jim Chapin. He has performed as a solo artist and sharing stage, TV and radio broadcastings and albums with countless artists in several countries of South America, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Russia, The Philippes, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and the USA.

Among his credits as an educator is the first book on Rock rhythms ever written in Latin America, namely Introducción al Rock/An Approach to Rock along with his other works. D’Auria has taught drumming in Argentina, Spain, France and the USA, offering clinics and seminars on drumming and sight reading in Argentina, the USA and cities of Spain and Portugal.

His career includes performing and recording for artists such as Sandro, Mariano Mores, Roberto Goyeneche, Julio Iglesias, Armando Manzanero, Pandora, Marco Antonio Solís; music halls and theaters such as the Olympia, Luna Park and Vélez Sarsfield Stadium of Buenos Aires, Grand Manila Hotel and CCP Complex of Manila, Kallang Theatre of Singapore or Yomiuri Hall in Tokyo.

As a solo artist he recorded with his sextet the albums Afro Tango, Tango 2000 and Latin Fantasy released by Sony Music Taiwan which includes two songs by "Afro Tango" along with songs by Gloria Estefan, Santana, Ricky Martin and more.
