At the heart of each drum is the legendary 6-ply Gretsch-formula maple/gum shell with its 30-degree bearing edge, the exclusive "Silver Sealer” interior finish and rugged 4mm die cast hoops. The custom drum building team in Ridgeland, South Carolina uses time-tested, classic finishing techniques such as hand-rubbed stains and nitro-cellulose lacquers. Gretsch’s nitron-finishes are some of the world’s finest, offering additional durability and a vintage look requested by many top drummers. Broadkaster
Broadkaster shells are made with our North American maple/poplar/maple formula. Each shell includes an interior-ply scarf joint that supplies added structural integrity to thin, musical shells. Like all USA-made Gretsch drums, shell interiors are finished with classic Gretsch Silver Sealer. The shell is hand finished with a roundover bearing edge, which allows greater surface contact between the bearing edge and drumhead. The result is tone that is incredibly deep, rich and warm.

Brooklyn
Brooklyn drums feature 6-ply North American maple/poplar shells and are made slightly thicker than Gretsch’s USA Custom Drums and have a 30-degree bearing edge. Shell interiors are finished with classic Gretsch Silver Sealer.
Brooklyn’s innovative specifications created a new Gretsch tonal characteristic that is slightly more open and satisfyingly ambient. There is no denying that Brooklyn drums possess the sound of classic Gretsch drums, but deliver their own sonic personality.
