Bio:
Nathaniel Townsley’s natural talent was evident at an early age in his father’s church and still to this day, returns to his roots when he’s not on the road. Considered one of the most gifted drummers in the world today, Nathaniel’s talent was recognized by one of music’s true innovators, Weather Report’s Joe Zawinul, with whom he played with for years up until Joe’s passing. Anyone commanding the Zawinul’s drum chair was considered an absolute drummer’s drummer and Nathaniel amazing technique, musicality and incredible feel matched Zawinul’s vision completely.

Nathaniel Townsley has performed and recorded with a diverse list of artists that include Richard Bona, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Jessica Simpson, Corey Glover, Special EFX, Chris DeBarge, R. Kelly, Dru Hill, Public Enemy, Nile Rogers & Chic and Lalah Hathaway just to name a few. He’s been a featured performer at the Modern Drummer Festival, the Montreal Drum Festival and workshops worldwide.

Currently and for the past 11 years, he’s been touring with 15-time Grammy winner…Spanish Mega-Star, Alejandro Sanz.
