We asked...Why Gretsch?:
Gretsch drums have been part of my musical DNA since I was a kid. So many of the players who inspired me played Gretsch, and some of the most iconic drum sounds on the records I grew up loving came from Gretsch kits. Every time I sit behind one, I'm reminded of the music that first made me want to play. It's an honor to be part of a legacy that has inspired me from the very beginning.

Bio:
Adam Marcello is an internationally acclaimed drummer, musical director, educator, and programmer whose career spans world tours, higher education, film, television, and the recording studio.

A Rhode Island native and graduate of Berklee College of Music, Adam is best known for his years as Katy Perry's touring drummer and musical director, with performances spanning multiple world tours, the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show, Saturday Night Live, and American Idol.

In addition to his work with Katy Perry, Adam has performed and recorded with an impressive roster of artists including Dave Matthews, Steve Perry, Lenny Kravitz, Sara Bareilles, Paul Gilbert, Moby, Tanya Tucker, and many more. His studio credits also include recordings for film and television, with performances featured on theme songs for Modern Family, Arrested Development, and Deadwood.

After years of international touring, Adam stepped away from the road to serve as a full-time Professor at Berklee College of Music, where he mentored the next generation of professional musicians while continuing his work as a recording artist.

Adam has since returned to the international touring circuit as the drummer for multi-platinum Irish rock band The Script, continuing a career defined by versatility, musicality, and world-class performance both on stage and in the studio.
