Sammy J. Watson

Sammy J Watson has toured and recorded with multiple artists, including the Apex Theory. After graduating with honors and awards from Musicians Institute in 1995, he toured with Ricky Lee Jones on the H.O.R.D.E. Festival, and a variety of other artists. With The Apex Theory, Sammy has performed at the Ozz Fest, Vans Warped Tour, Snow Core, MTV2 tour and many others, both in the U.S. and internationally. Sammy’s teaching specialties include rock, jazz, drum ‘n’ bass, jungle, fusion, reggae, metal, pop, and funk influences with heavy emphasis on odd-meter groove and stylistic feel. Sammy is also the author of the book, "Drumming D.N.A." and is currently working on a solo project, collaborating with a handful of respected musicians.
