GRETSCH REVIVES CARIBBEAN BLUE FINISH

Gretsch USA Custom drum set in Caribbean Blue finish, 20/10/14/14/5x14 |
Gretsch Drums has added Caribbean Blue as a gloss lacquer and satin lacquer finish option for USA Custom Drums. Gretsch first featured this color for the USA Custom line in the 1980’s, then again in 2000. Now it is back for the third time as a standard color offering. This dynamic color is a deep blend of blue and green hues, modeled after the crystal clear aqua colors found in the waters surrounding the Caribbean topics.
The USA Custom series is the flagship line for Gretsch Drums and are handcrafted and hand finished in its Ridgeland, SC factory by a small group of highly experienced and skilled drumsmiths. Gretsch’s Nitrocellulose lacquer produces a finish that cures with the wood to create a dynamic, blending bond. This finish is hand-applied every step of the way in a meticulous 6-step process. After the shell has been fully sanded and prepared, it gets hand-stained. The shell then goes through a labor-intensive 6-step lacquer/sanding/buffing process that results in a drum with an exceptional deep luster.
Gretsch USA Custom Drums use a proprietary 6-ply Gretsch-formula drum shell that is the center point of “That Great Gretsch Sound.” The shell is made according to the same specs that were used when it was first introduced in the 1950’s, and finished the same with 30-degree bearing edges, die-cast hoops and New Millennium triple-plated chrome hardware. |
