Building on the annual Renown Purewood series, Gretsch is pleased to introduce the Renown Purewood Oak kit for 2009. This drum set marks the first time in Gretsch history that oak has been used in Gretsch drum set production. Oak’s inherent grain density produces a distinctive tonal personality and volume. These drums are loud. Tonal attack jumps off the drums with searing presence and density. The 6-ply oak shells deliver naturally bright tones. Tonal balance is achieved by Gretsch’s 30-degree bearing edges and focused by Renown’s standard-offer die cast hoops. The Renown Purewood Oak series is available for a limited time in 2009.
