About the Artist
Dan Duggins is a drummer that is not easily defined. His talents are broad and diversified. Studying formally in both classical percussion and drum set performance at Virginia Commonwealth University and Berklee College of Music, his style is tasteful and well informed. He has performed and toured mostly with “indie rock” style acts, but is now living in NYC and finds himself pursuing many other musical outlets. Currently performing with the piano rock outfit The Queen Killing Kings and the eclectic world/pop/rock group Zigmat, he doesn’t hesitate to have many other working projects. This includes the recent assembly of a new improvisational style group with a few carefully selected musicians in the VA area.
In addition to his performance work, he also teaches privately on a regular basis in VA and NYC and is in the process of putting the finishing touches on two method books. One, being a simple yet well organized crash course to popular drumming, and the other a joint effort with two established NY drummers.
Among all these accomplishments, Dan is in the process of finalizing an original design for a new tom mounting system. There are no definite plans for its debut but it promises to turn some heads in the near future.
